Description

These monster yogurt covered pretzel rods are made with yogurt, chocolate and powdered sugar. They're a fun halloween treat and are great for taking to a party or classroom.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3/4 cup Yogurt
  • 2 cups Powdered sugar
  • 2 cup Melting chocolate (option to do various colors, I did 1/2 cup of each color)
  • 15-20 Pretzel rods
  • Garnish: Festive sprinkles & fun halloween eyeballs

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 250F and prepare a baking sheet with a wire cooling rack on top.
  2. In a small bowl of base of a standing mixer, whisk together yogurt and powdered sugar until no clumps are present.
  3. Melt the melting chocolate in a separate bowl in the microwave (make sure to stir every 30 seconds so the chocolate doesn't burn) or  use a double broiler. If you are doing more than 1 color, make sure the chocolate colors stay in separate bowls.
  4. Once the chocolate is throughly melted, add in yogurt/sugar mixture 1 tablespoon at a time. Continue to stir the chocolate as you do this. if the chocolate becomes stiff, reheat it again for 30 seconds and stir. If the chocolate is too liquidly ( ie dripping off the pretzel and not coating it. Let the chocolate cool for 1-2 minutes then proceed with dipping each pretzel rod into the chocolate/yogurt mixture. Lay them flat on the wire cooling rack so any excess drips off the pretzel onto the sheet pan. Sprinkle with halloween candies, sprinkles and eyeballs as you wish.
  5. Turn off the oven and place the baking sheet in the oven. Crack open the oven slightly to release heat and let them sit for at least 2 hours. Transfer the baking sheet to the freezer to fully harden overnight.
