This creamy smoked salmon dip is super easy to make. Just assemble and go! It's packed with healthy fats and a punch of flavor.
We are cruising through June! Our lives have slowed down a bit as we wait for the baby to arrive and trying to tie up a couple things before she comes! I will be slowing down on my posts for July/August, but should resume business as normal come September. Be sure to follow me on pinterest and instagram for current food I eat during that time!
Can pregnant women consume smoked salmon? Unless it is shelf stable, likely not. I would check with your OB or physician first to make sure you're in the clear!
How Do I Make it?
This smoked salmon dip could not be easier to make! I don't think I can buy just plain smoked salmon anymore without making it into a dip. Here is what you will need!
- Fresh Dill
- Red Onion
- Smoked Salmon
- Yogurt
- Cream cheese (I love neufchatel cheese)
- Lemon Juice & Capers
Heat the cream cheese in a microwave safe bowl for about 30 seconds, giving it a good stir. Then add in the remaining ingredients and fold in the smoked salmon. SO GOOD.

Serving Ideas
When I was developing this smoked salmon dip recipe, the obvious choice to me was to smear it on an everything seasoned bagel. Here are some other ways!
- Dip it in carrot sticks
- Celery
- Whole grain crackers, like these from Trader Joe's.
These are all great, gluten free options too!
How do I serve this?
I served ours in a bowl with the veggies around it and bagels cut into chunks. That way your guests can choose how they want to use it.
How Long Does It Last?
I'd consume this dip within 2-3 days in the refrigerator just like any other leftover. Since it is smoked salmon, yogurt and cream cheese it carries a higher risk of growing listeria.
What Kind of Smoked Salmon Should I Buy?
There are so many different variations of smoked salmon out there. Traditionally you will see Atlantic or Farm-raised smoked salmon in your grocery store.
However, most grocery stores will also carry Wild Alaskan smoked salmon, which is what you will want to aim for. I understand it's a tad more pricey, but you are paying for better quality, sustainably caught and more environmentally friendly.
