This healthy grilled turkey burger recipe is so easy, juicy and takes under 10 minutes to prepare! Perfect to throw on the grill on a busy weeknight or weekend BBQ with family and friends.
Memorial Day is approaching, which means grilling season has begun! Growing up my family always had a BBQ on Sunday nights, which consisted mostly of easy things to throw on the grill like hot dogs, brats and burgers. Since learning more about nutrition throughout my college years, those brats and hot dogs are slowly migrating towards more turkey & veggie burgers. Store bought turkey burgers are great, but some can be pricey or contain a lot of additives and preservatives. Cue this easy healthy grilled turkey burger recipe.
The main reason I wanted to create a healthy turkey burger recipe is for convenience. We got a grill for our wedding last summer and use it all the time in the summer. I wanted to have a go-to that is easy to prepare with items in my pantry and obviously ground turkey. Easy, simple, done. Now you have some extra time to whip up a greek salad or panzanella salad as a side dish. You've got yourself a turkey burger meal! Bon appetit!
Ingredients in Healthy Turkey Burgers
This recipe takes about 10 minutes or less to prepare for the grill. So simple, people. Just toss everything in a bowl and use your hands to get nice and dirty.
- Ground turkey
- Breadcrumbs
- Worcestershire
- Olive oil (for extra juiciness)
- Garlic & onion powder
- Salt & pepper
Make it bun-less and dress it up with toppings
I decided to make these bun-less grilled turkey burgers and use a lettuce wrap instead. I taste so much more flavor from the aioli, assorted toppings and burger itself. Sometimes, I might feel like eating a bun and that’s okay too ☺
Some toppings that I love:
- Pickled red onions
- Tomato
- Smashed avocado
- Sun-dried tomato aioli
Ahhhhmazing.
Can’t forget the sweet potato fries on the side! I roast them at about 425 for 15 minutes, shake, then again for about 5-7 minutes. I used regular head lettuce and gently wrapped it around the turkey burger. So filling, fresh and juicy! Perfect filling turkey burger meal!

I absolutely love this recipe! The patties came out so moist and flavorful! I am really picky and only can eat meat if its tender and soft and easy to consume and this recipe hit all the boxes. The only difference is I cooked it in an air-fryer! I made me and my boyfriend some last week and I am going to make some more tonight!
Maggie
Thanks so much for the comment and rating!! Good to know it works in the air fryer too! Enjoy!

How long did you do them in the air fryer?
Ama
Great recipe! How long would these last in the fridge?
Maggie
I never keep leftovers in the fridge for longer than 5 days! Thanks!

These burgers are simple, but really flavorful! I used a cast iron skillet to cook these on the stove and it worked well. I’ll definitely remake them! The only change I made was to do a full teaspoon of Diamond Crystal Kosher salt instead of 1/2 tsp of salt. Since the salt type wasn’t specified (and different salts convert to different measurements), I thought a full tsp of DKC would work best with a pound of meat.
