This peanut butter stuffed chocolate bark is a fun treat! It's a simple recipe that delivers maximum flavor with crushed pretzel pieces on top!
This recipe makes a great holiday treat to take to a cookie exchange or drop off on a friends doorstep.
Another reason why I love this peanut butter chocolate bark is because it tastes like a flattened Reeces egg with pretzel on top <3
Ingredients
Chocolate Chips: This recipe calls for two cups of chocolate chips, I used dark chocolate morsels. Use dairy free chocolate chips if needed!
Coconut oil: If you don't have coconut oil, any other type of oil will work!
Pretzels: Feel free to use gluten free pretzels if you need! I used some pretzels rods crushed up.
Peanut butter: I used creamy peanut butter but chunky would work and I think it would taste amazing too!
How to Make
The base layer: Make the chocolate in a small bowl with coconut oil. To prevent burning, I do 30 second intervals in my microwave. You could also use a double broiler option.
When you pour the chocolate onto the waxed paper or parchment paper, make sure the pan it's on fits in the freezer. I have a side by side fridge so I actually moved my chocolate to a cutting board to fit.
Middle + top layer: The peanut butter and powdered sugar spreads better with a spoon onto the frozen chocolate.
For the crushed up pretzels, I placed them in a plastic bag and gave it a few good whacks with my meat tenderizer lol.
FAQs and Tips
It does well out of the refrigerator for about 8 hours, but to keep the chocolate from getting a little melty, I would place it in the refrigerator when not in use.
As long as the pan is about the size of a piece of paper you will be fine. Look at the pictures above for reference.
Once the whole thing is done freezing, I removed it from the freezer with the parchment paper attached and placed it on the cutting board. Cut
the bark with a large chef knife.

Description
This peanut butter stuffed chocolate bark is a fun treat! It's a simple recipe that delivers maximum flavor with crushed pretzel pieces on top!
Ingredients
Base layer:
- 1 cup chocolate chips, I used dark
- ½ tsp coconut oil
Peanut Butter Layer
- ½ cup creamy peanut butter
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
Top layer:
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- ½ tsp coconut oil
- ½ cup pretzels, crushed for topping
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, microwave 1 cup chocolate chips and coconut oil for the base layer. Microwave in 30 seconds segments to prevent from burning. Stir between heating.
- Prepare a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper.
- Once chocolate is melted, pour onto lined sheet pan and spread with a spoon of spatula. The chocolate should spread out to about the size of a sheet of paper. Once spread, place in freezer for 15-20 minutes.
- While the base layer is freezing, combine powdered sugar and peanut butter in a small bowl and set aside. Melt the chocolate for the top layer while waiting for the base layer to freeze.
- Once the base layer is frozen, spread the peanut butter layer on top of the base layer. Then pour the top layer on top of the peanut butter layer. Top with crushed pretzels and freeze for 20+ minutes.
Notes
I would suggest making sure your sheet pan fits in your freezer before pouring the chocolate on it.
