Just when you start to miss tailgating season, here comes the Super Bowl, taking your game day grub to the next level. It's the ultimate "game day" and time to step up your food game with these super bowl turkey sliders.
I've got to admit these sliders were so easy, I just might be making them for my kids one day. Not only can it feed up to 12 people, but you can do it all on one sheet pan! Nothing is better than one sheet pan meals. The clean up is minimal and the cook time is quick!
Ingredients in Turkey Club Sliders
- Deli turkey: I always go to the deli counter and get the "fresh" stuff. I ask them to slice it thin, maybe even shred it for this recipe because that would be ahhhmazingggg.
- White Cheese variety: Swiss, harvarti, gouda, or provolone, any of these would work here!
- Dijon mustard: Dijon mustard gives this recipe just the right amount of tang that it needs.
- Turkey Bacon/Bacon: You can do regular bacon here, but honestly I don't even notice much of a difference anymore with turkey bacon! I would recommend cooking it prior to making this recipe. It just speeds along the process.
- Avocado: Some of you dislike avocado on warm sandwiches, but it doesn't bother me!
- Slider buns: I just bought the regular ones you see in the bread section. I couldn't find whole wheat slider buns at my grocery store, but if you do, go for it!
How to Make Turkey Sliders
This recipe makes 12 turkey sliders on a half sheet pan. If you want you can double the recipe on a full sheet pan. Just make sure to buy two 12 slider bun packages.
- Slice the slider buns in half. I like to use a serrated knife to help me cut it more easily.
- Layer dijon mustard on the botton of the slider buns.
- Top with sliced or shaved deli turkey.
- Then layer on the cheese (see above for cheese choices).
- Place the pieces of bacon on top of each slider bun. I like to have these already cut so they are easy to tear apart when they are finished cooking.
- Place avocado slices and top of buns back on the sheet pan.
- Optional to brush the tops of the sliders with worcestershire, garlic powder and butter (if wanted). Bake at 350 for about 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
- Remove from oven and serve immediately.
